Samuel Casiano Lopez Memorial Scholarship

Samuel Casiano Lopez was the Founder of U.T.B. United Third Bridge Inc. a civil rights, education and cultural organization dedicated to the equality of Hispanic people. Samuel dedicated his life to promoting the Hispanic culture. He was a pillar of the Brevard County Community and through education, and leadership he envisioned to promote the Hispanic scholars to achieve higher goals in order for them to obtain better employment opportunities within the workforce. He was a tireless leader and advocate when it came to labor and inclusion of Hispanics. His strong faith in God gave him family values which he instilled in his own children and lead him to dedicate his life to the service of others. It is with this dedication that U.T.B United Third Bridge Inc. is bestowing this honorable recognition of this $500.00 scholarship.

All applicants are required to meet the following criteria:

  • Must be of Hispanic Heritage (Parents and/or Grandparents).
  • Be a 2025 Graduating Senior in BPS.
  • Enrolling as a college full-time degree seeking student 2025.
  • If chosen as a scholarship recipient, the student will agree to participate in our upcoming 2024 Parade Banquet, Saturday, October 5, 2024 and the Puerto Rican Day Parade and Multicultural Festival in Brevard County, Sunday, October 6, 2024.

Applicants are asked to submit their full name, school they currently attend, and a short essay no more than 200 words detailing why are they proud to be Hispanic and how being Hispanic has influenced their career aspirations.
